We are having a fine shower at this writing, 9 o’clock a. m., Aug. 7th. Question Answered. Yea, August flower still has tbe largest sale of anv medicine in tbe civibzad world. Your mothers and grandmoth ers never thought of using anything else for indigestion or biliousness. Doctors were scarce, and tbev seldom heard of Appendicitis, Nervous Prostration or Heart failure, etc. They used Aug<Ut Flower to clean ent the system and stop teriuentation of undigested food, regulate the action of the liver, stimulate the nervous and organic action of the system and that is all they took whon feeling dull and bad with a headache and other aches. You onlv need a few dosee of Green’s August Flower, in liquid form, to make you satisfied there is nothing serious the matter with you. Get Green’s Prize Almanac. T. K. B olton . A man named Morgan shot at Lew Dog gett last Friday, while the latter was mowing in a field, near Oak Bar. Dog gett’s arm was badly shattered between the elbow and shoulder, making his chances of recovery serious, as it may have to be amputated at the shoulder al though the doctor thinks his arm may be saved. Doggett’s rifle was fastened to the mower, but could not untie it quick enough for defence. Morgan fired twice at Doggett before inflicting the wound. The telephone line was down, so Doggett's boy was hurried off to Fort Jones, who notified Dr, Ream from that place, the doctor leaving Sunday even ing It is feared this delay will prove disastrous for Doggett’s recovery. Mor gan and Doggett are brother-ln law, mar rying sisters, and had trouble before, eo that much enmity existed between them. Both have families, and their many lriends deeply deplore the unfortunate occuyance. Morgan has left for parts un known, and as be is a young mau and ex perienced mountaineer, it will be diffi cult to secure him.—Yreka Journal. No Disease Germs Left. Andrew Hootan, stepson of the late Joseph Dowden who resides between Sams Valley and Gold Hill, met with a painful accident one night last. week. He hqd been smoking the mosquitos out of the bbd^oomsi When he had completed his task he threw his smudge in the chimney. Shortly afterwards he retired in a room up stairs; soon after retiring the smoke began to gather in his room. He at first thought it was just the smudge in the fireplace until it final ly got too much for him and he came down stairs to investigate. On opening the door of the room usually occupied by his little nephew, he was met at the door by flames. The room was all a blaze inside. Supposing the child was in the bed he courageously pushed in and made a thorough search in which he got badly burned and it is only one time out of a' thousand that he would escape be ing burned to death. But luckily for the child he had taken another room that night and was resting in perfect safety. The fire was extinguished be fore there was much damage done to the building.
